QUIET

The title of this piece perfectly reflects the feel of it. With her face hidden, all we can do is wonder about the figure and her story.

What I love most about this drawing is the astonishing level of detail to the hair. It feels as if I can see every fibre, and the little details such as the way it curls around her ear really draws the viewer in.

If I was going to pick a weak point (very difficult indeed with work of such a high calibre!) I'd say that, personally, I'd like there to be a little more difference in shade between the thing she's lying on and the dark shape behind her. At the moment, she floats a little.

But the wrinkles in the fabric of her top are lovely and the sense of light is absolutely beautiful. A very well accomplished drawing indeed.
